International Forum St. Petersburg – Parliamentary Capital of Commonwealth to be Held on 18-19 May

The IPA CIS together with the Government of St. Petersburg and the Legislative Assembly of St. Petersburg will hold the International Forum “St. Petersburg - the Parliamentary Capital of the Commonwealth”. The event is timed to the 320th anniversary of St. Petersburg, declared the cultural capital of the Commonwealth in 2023.
The program of the forum will be held at three venues: the IPA CIS headquarters - Tavricheskiy Palace, St. Petersburg Legislative Assembly and the Herzen State Pedagogical University of Russia.
The forum will include a plenary session and round tables, the main topics of which will be the development of youth parliamentarism, specifics of St. Petersburg practices in the development of cooperation in the CIS, the fate of the Institute of parliamentarism in the context of global transformations.
The event will be attended by MPs of the Commonwealth and other countries, representatives of the CIS Executive Committee, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation and consular offices in St. Petersburg, CIS public authorities, international organizations, universities - partners of the IPA CIS, youth organizations, academia and experts.
