22 years ago Presidents of the Republic of Belarus and the Russian Federation signed the Treaty on Establishing the Community of Russia and Belarus. The Treaty on the Union of Belarus and Russia signed in 1997 is dated the same day.
The two states organize large-scale joint projects and cooperate in the field of foreign policy and in various domains of national economy, science and education.
