On 23 January, the Commonwealth Cup 2016 featured its final match in St. Petersburg. Team Russia challenged Team Moldova to win its first Cup since 2013 with the score 4:2.
The Republic of Moldova has won silver. The bronze came to Estonia after the penalty shootout with the team of the Kyrgyz Republic.
8 youth teams took part in the XXIV international football tournament: teams from the Republic of Belarus, Estonia, the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic, Latvia, the Republic of Moldova, the Russian Federation, the Republic of Tajikistan.
The tournament was supported by the IPA CIS.
