Commonwealth MPs Arrived in Chisinau to Observe Elections

Head of the CIS Observer Mission, Secretary General of the IPA CIS Council Dmitriy Kobitskiy opened the organizational meeting at the Observer Team headquarters in Chisinau. He introduced IPA CIS Observer Team Coordinator, Deputy Chair of the Committee of the Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic on Law Enforcement, Combating Crime and Corruption Iskender Matraimov to the observers.

Dmitriy Kobitskiy stressed that most of the MPs included in the Observer Team had significant experience in observing elections in the Commonwealth countries.

Iskender Matraimov focused on the need to monitor the compliance of all activities carried out by the election administration and other participants of the electoral process with the national legislation and international commitments of the Republic of Moldova.

Further, the IPA CIS observers got acquainted with the results of the long-term monitoring of the election campaign conducted by the IPA CIS IIMDD experts.

Deputy Head of the IPA CIS Council Secretariat – Director of the IPA CIS IIMDD Ivan Mushket told the observers about the work program and scheduled meetings for the coming days.
