Ivan Mushket Took Part in International Summit Dedicated to Global Election Day

Today, the Global Elections Day Summit 2022, organized by the Association of European Election Officials, took place via videoconferencing.

The summit was attended by Deputy Head of the IPA CIS Council Secretariat – Director of the International Institute for Monitoring the Democracy Development, Parliamentarianism and Suffrage Protection of Citizens of IPA CIS Member Nations (IPA CIS IIMDD), Doctor of Law, Professor Ivan Mushket.

In his speech, Ivan Mushket congratulated the summit participants on Global Elections Day and stressed the importance of the Convention on the Standards of Democratic Elections, Electoral Rights and Freedoms in the Member States of the CIS adopted on 7 October 2002 in Chisinau (Republic of Moldova) for the electoral administration processes.

He also informed the participants that on 6–7 October 2022, an international research and practice conference “CIS Convention on the Standards of Democratic Elections: Open Space for International Cooperation” dedicated to the 20^th anniversary of the signing of the Convention would be held in St. Petersburg. The conference will discuss the implementation and protection of electoral rights, the use of new technologies in the electoral process, the development of election monitoring standards and youth participation in electoral campaigns.
