IPA CIS observers held an inception meeting in Astana

The IPA CIS international observer team had an inception meeting in the capital of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The meeting was opened by Deputy Secretary General of the IPA CIS Council, Representative of Milli Mejlis of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Aidyn Dzhafarov.
Valekh Askerov, Coordinator of the Observer Team, Vice Speaker of Milli Mejlis of the Republic of Azerbaijan, informed the participants about the membership of the observer team, the work of the IIMDD IPA CIS expert group during the long-term monitoring and about the observers’ mission in the course of the short-term monitoring.
Andrey Baranov, Director of IIMDD IPA CIS, provided information about the short-term monitoring and about the visits of the team during the Election Day.
On the E-Day, the IPA CIS observers will monitor the opening of the polling stations and the voting process in Astana, Almaty, Akmolinskaya, Almatinskaya and Karagandinskaya regions in Kazakhstan, and also on the stations abroad in Baku, Erevan, Minsk, Bishkek, Moscow, and St. Petersburg.
The Head of the IIMDD IPA CIS Expert Group Dmitry Gladey informed the participants of the experts’ work during the long-term monitoring of the parliamentary election in the Republic of Kazakhstan.
