Vsevolozhsk welcomes experts in the field of electoral process

On 18 February, Vsevolozhsk (a city in suburban St. Petersburg) welcomed the conference Municipal Elections in Leningrad Region in 2014: Issues and Pathways. Roman Ambourtsev, Deputy Chief, IIMDD CIS Election Monitoring Unit, made a statement on Role of International Observation in Electoral Process at Municipal Level covering the IPA CIS activities in short-term and long-term election observation since 1994. He stressed that in 20 years the IPA CIS has gained unique experience in assessing transparency, openness and fairness of the electoral process noting the need to spread it further to raise the efficiency of election technologies.
