IPA CIS is Developing Model Law on Creative Industries

The work on the Model Law was discussed at the roundtable “The role of creative industries in the development of the country’s economy” held in the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation.
The event was organized by the Commission of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation on Preservation and Development of Folk Arts and Crafts in the Russian Federation, the Committee of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation on Federal Structure, Regional Policy, Local Government and Northern Affairs and the Committee of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation on Science, Education and Culture.
Chair of the IPA CIS Permanent Commission on Practices of State-Building and Local Government, Chair of the Standing Commission of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus on State-Building, Local Government, and Regulations Valentin Semenyako spoke at the roundtable about the Commission’s work on the draft Model Law on Creative Industries. He noted that the development of the project was connected with the emergence in the Commonwealth countries of the imperative to form a creative economy, which is based on the relationship between creativity, culture, economy and technology.
Head of the Congress Activities Department of the IPA CIS Council Secretariat Yulia Zaikova spoke about the growing influence of the creative industries on all spheres of society, the growth of the creative industries market given its unique position at the intersection of art, innovative technologies and business.
