MPs Approved Draft CIS Concept of Sustainable Development

On 21 September, a meeting of the IPA CIS Permanent Commission on Practices of State-Building and Local Government was held at the headquarters of the CIS Interparliamentary Assembly.
At the beginning of the meeting, Chair of the Standing Commission of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus on State Building, Local Government and Regulations Valentin Semenyako was unanimously re-elected the Chair of the IPA CIS Permanent Commission on Practices of State-Building and Local Government .
Member of the Majlisi namoyandagon of the Majlisi Oli of the Republic of Tajikistan Faizali Idizoda was elected the Deputy Chair of the Commission.
The MPs considered and approved the Draft CIS Concept of Sustainable Development and the Legislative Basis for the Concept of CIS Sustainable Development, taking into account the proposals and comments received.
It was decided to ask the IPA CIS Council to include the consideration of these projects in the agenda of the next IPA CIS plenary session.
The meeting discussed the draft Model Law on International Observation and draft Recommendations on Use of Automation Technical Tools during Elections and on Countering Foreign Interference in National Elections.
The meeting participants discussed the progress of work on the draft new version of the Recommendations for CIS International Observers on Elections and Referenda Monitoring
In addition, the Commission considered the draft Model Laws on State and Municipal Services, on Administrative Proceedings, on Privatization of State and Municipal Property, the Recommendations on the Use of the Mechanism of Municipal-Private Partnership for Addressing Issues of Local Self-Government and the White Book of the best legislative anti-crisis regulation practices, and the concept of the Model Law on Municipal Awards.
The Commission members also got acquainted with the information on the implementation of the CIS Concept of Inter-regional and Trans-border Cooperation until 2020 and the Action Plan for its implementation.
On 22 October, the members of the Permanent Commission will take part in the Conference “Image of a Modern City”, dedicated to the Year of Architecture and Urban Development in the CIS to be held in Peterhof.
