Model laws on environment were discussed in St. Petersburg

The Permanent Commission on Agriculture, Natural Resources and the Environment held its session in the Parliamentary Center of the IPA CIS.

Model laws ‘On environmental impact assessment’ (new edition), ‘On propagation and use of genetically modified organisms for agricultural export’, ‘On development basis of bioenergy’, ‘On prevention and mitigation of negative impact biocides upon environment’, ‘On conservation and sustainable use and restoration of biological diversity’ were on the top of the agenda.

The commission members and experts discussed the new edition of the model Forestry Code for the CIS member nations.

The participants summed up the outcomes of the VII Nevsky International Ecological Congress and drew up the future plan.

On 27 November the commission members will take part in the 43rd plenary session of the IPA CIS.
