The Permanent Commission on Political Issues and International Cooperation  held a session in St. Petersburg

The members of the commission discussed the outcomes of the sessions of the Council of the CIS Foreign Ministers, the Council of the CIS Heads of State and the Council of the CIS Heads of Government as well as the outcomes of the 133rd Assembly of the Interparliamentary Union.

The participants paid their special attention to the IPA CIS team of international observers and their work at the presidential election in the Republic of Kazakhstan (26 April 2015), parliamentary election to the Jogorku Kenesh in the Kyrgyz Republic (4 October 2015), presidential election in the Republic of Belarus (12 October 2015) and parliamentary election to the Milli Majlis in the Republic of Azerbaijan (1 November 2015).

The reports on security and stability in the Central Asian region under the threat of international terrorism were presented during the session.

The participants paid their special attention to the plan of the IPA CIS activities devoted to the 70th anniversary of victory in the Great Patriotic war. 

The draft perspective plan for model law-making in the CIS for 2016-2020 was also one of the issues discussed by the participants.
