Valentina Matvienko: model law-making is central to our work

Chairperson of the IPA CIS Council Valentina Matvienko met with the Speaker of the Oliy Mazhlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan Diloram Tashmuhammedova.
Valentina Matvienko spoke about the untapped potential of regional cooperation. Parliamentas ought to be more active in humanitarian, scientific and technological areas, she said. IPA CIS is currently drafting the CIS Convention on Regional Cooperation.

Hopefully, in the near future the body of model instruments will add fully-fledged international treaty.
IPA CIS is an essential instrument for the follow-up on the CIS political bodies. It is also an effective platform for dialogue and exchanges across the entire spectrum of issues.
