Kyrgyz CEC Delegation Meets St. Petersburg Diaspora Representatives

Today, the delegation of the Central Commission for Elections and Referenda of the Kyrgyz Republic held a meeting with representatives of the Kyrgyz diaspora as part of an official visit in St. Petersburg within the framework of the preparation for the elections to the Jogorku Kenesh.
The conversation was attended by Deputy Chairman of the Central Commission for Elections and Referenda of the Kyrgyz Republic Tynchtyk Shainazarov, members of the Commission Anar Dubanbaeva and Kairat Mamatov, Head of the International Cooperation Department Arslanbek Umetaliev and CEC Adviser Ainura Temirbekova. The IPA CIS Council Secretariat was represented at the meeting by Deputy Secretary General of the IPA CIS Council – Plenipotentiary Representative of the Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic Nurbek Satvaldiev and Deputy Head of the IPA CIS Council Secretariat – IPA CIS IIMDD Director Ivan Musket.
The event was aimed at informing the diaspora on the procedure for electing members of the Jogorku Kenesh, citizens’ participation in voting, inclusion in the voter list, and other aspects of the election campaign.
Representatives of the CEC informed their fellow citizens on the essence of innovations in the electoral legislation in view of the adoption of the new Constitution, the procedure for the formation of the lists of candidates with due account youth and gender quotas and quotas for participation in elections for persons with disabilities, as well as the procedure for work and jurisdiction of the members of precinct electoral commissions.
On behalf of the Speaker of the Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic Talant Mamytov, Nurbek Satvaldiev presented letters of gratitude to the activists of the Kyrgyz diaspora and members of the Operational Headquarters for Interaction of the Kyrgyz Citizens of St. Petersburg against COVID-19.
