Prospects for Russia-Africa Cooperation Discussed in St. Petersburg

On 26 June, a roundtable on “Russia-Africa: A Strategy of Business Interaction, Opportunities for Cooperation and Partnership” organized by the Russian-wide public organization «Investment Russia» was held at the Saint-Petersburg Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
Vice President of the Saint-Petersburg Chamber of Commerce and Industry Ekaterina Lebedeva and other representatives of St. Petersburg and Moscow business community made welcoming speeches.
The participants discussed the current challenges and realities of international trade, Russian-African relations under sanctions pressure, investment opportunities for Russia in Africa in the context of current geopolitics and financial turbulence and aspects of transcontinental logistics and finance.
Secretary of the IPA CIS Permanent Commission on Economy and Finance Roman Levin and Secretary of the IPA CIS Permanent Commission on Political Issues and International Cooperation Maximillian Selyutin took part in the roundtable on behalf of the IPA CIS.
Presentations were made by representatives of the real economy, consulting business, commercial bank, fintech and logistics companies. President of the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Leningrad Region Alexander Gabitov, representatives of the diplomatic corps from Angola, Zimbabwe, Tanzania and other African countries took part in the discussion.
