Alexey Sergeev meets the Peterburgsky Dnevnik
27 December 2013
Alexey Sergeev was a guest of the Sankt-Peterburg TV channel and its live show the Peterburgsky Dnevnik. In his interview, he spoke about the results of the year and the activities of the IPA CIS.
“Law-making remains the key function of the IPA CIS. This year saw the adoption of 28 new model laws bringing their total number to 413”, he said.
“Model laws are consensus-based legal texts submitted to national parliaments as an input to the body of national regulation”, explained Alexey Sergeev.
The themes raised at the show also included the most relevant model laws, Young CIS Parliamentarians Assembly, IPA CIS and the IIMDD election observation, and, last but not least, the renewed tradition of hosting fur-tree festivals in the Tavricheskiy Palace.
IPA CIS Council Chairperson Valentina Matvienko noted the importance of this tradition and its revival, especially the opportunity for children from large families to feel the magic atmosphere of the New Year.
