Big concert marks the 110th birthday anniversary of Aram Khachaturian

The concert featured masterpieces by the great Soviet composer, a renowned author of the Sabre Dance, including pieces from Gayaneh and Spartacus ballets.

Vice-Speaker, the National Assembly of Armenia, Eduard Sharmazanov, thanked the organizers and appreciated their deep respect for the legacy of Aram Khachaturian.

IPA CIS Secretary General Alexey Sergeev noted that one of the priorities of the IPA CIS was humanitarian cooperation and raising awareness about great cultural phenomena.

Gayaneh and Spartacus were first staged in St. Petersburg, which makes it a special place for the composer and his family. Moreover, it is highly symbolic that the IPA CIS is organizing this event because as an international music celebrity he had many friends in all the Soviet republics.
