Commemorative events at the Victory monument in Minsk

Yuriy Andreev, IPA CIS representative at the CIS, participated in the ceremony. The participants of the event greeted the veterans, paid tribute to the lasting memory of the defenders of the Nation fallen during the Great Patriotic War and the heroic stand of the Soviet soldiers. Next, they proceeded to laying wreaths to the Victory monument. Minsk was the first city of the Living Memories Tour initiative that kicked off at the walls of the Brest Fortress and the piers of Murmansk through the cities and sites of the Commonwealth to end at the Poklonnaya Hill in Moscow.
January is the first month in the implementation of the IPA CIS Plan of Action dedicated to the 70th anniversary of the Victory in the Great patriotic War of 1941 – 1945 adopted by the IPA CIS Council on 17 April 2014. The decision launched the year 2015 as the Year of the Veterans with an agenda of commemorative events.
One of the events that is intended to bring together all IPA CIS Member Nations is the Living Memories Tour which is a travel through national capitals to visit sites commemorating the Great Victory.
