IPA CIS pursues return of the historic design to the Tavricheskiy Palace

Today, the Readings featured an address by IPA CIS SecGen Alexey Sergeev in the renovated Doumskiy Hall of the Tavricheskiy Palace. Speaking to the participants of the international symposium Current Issues in Parliamentarianism: Legacy and the Present Day, he said: “Maintenance and recreation of the original design of the Palace which is approaching its 225th anniversary has been a commitment of the IPA CIS Council for 22 years”.

Also, Alexey Sergeev spoke about the history of the Doumskiy Hall, with its outstanding law-making record, including the adoption of over 400 model laws that today form the basis of national legal frameworks across the CIS. He stressed the importance of those laws in the alignment and the harmonization of national laws to match highest European and international standards.
