Bilateral Meetings Held on Sidelines of IPA CIS Spring Session

On April 14, bilateral meetings of heads of parliamentary delegations were held on the sidelines of IPA CIS spring session.
Speaker of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, Chairperson of the IPA CIS Council Valentina Matvienko met with Speaker of the Milli Majlis of the Azerbaijan Republic Sahiba Gafarova. Valentina Matvienko also met with President of the Central American Parliament (PARLACEN) Amado Cerrud Acevedo and his deputy Guillermo Daniel Ortega Reyes and Speaker of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus Natalya Kochanova.
Chair of the Senate of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan Maulen Ashimbayev met with Speaker of the Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic Nurlanbek Shakiev, Speaker of the National Assembly of Armenia Alen Simonyan and with Sahiba Gafarova.
The parties discussed development of political, economic, cultural and humanitarian ties between the countries, the prospects and current issues of inter-parliamentary cooperation.
