IPA CIS Autumn Session Held in Samarkand

The events brought together more than 500 participants, including the heads and members of the parliamentary delegations of the IPA CIS Member Nations, as well as the representatives of international organizations, academia and experts.
The session started with the meetings of the IPA CIS Permanent Commissions on Culture, Information, Tourism and Sport, on Agrarian Policy, Natural Resources and Ecology, on Political Issues and International Cooperation and the session of the Youth CIS Interparliamentary Assembly.
On 27 October, a meeting of the IPA CIS Council was held. The heads of parliamentary delegations discussed relevant cooperation issues, summed up the results of the events held in 2022 and were briefed on issues of monitoring of election campaigns in the CIS countries.
On 28 October, the 54th plenary session was held. The MPs considered a large set of model laws, including those on electoral subjects.
Traditionally, the IPA CIS sessions are held in the Tavricheskiy Palace in St. Petersburg – at the IPA CIS headquarters. The year of the 30th anniversary of the Assembly was a special one for the organization. In March, a ceremonial meeting of the IPA CIS Council took place in Almaty. The autumn session of the IPA CIS was held for the first time in Uzbekistan.
