24 November is the Day of the National Flag in Tajikistan
24 November 2013
The national flag features three colors: red stands for freedom and independence, white stands for peace and security, green stands for wellbeing. In the center is a crown with a semicircle of seven starts symbolizing seven historical centers of the Tajik nations. The flagstaff is 165 meters high and has an entry in the Guinnes book of records. Historians hold it that flags as symbols originated in Tajikistan since time immemorial. Four thousand years ago flags appeared in Babylonia, Egypt and China as a cultural loan from the Arian tribes.
