Ecotourism to Be One of Priorities in Kyrgyzstan’s CIS Chairmanship Concept

In the year of its CIS presidency, Kyrgyzstan will develop cooperation among the CIS countries in the economic, cultural, humanitarian and social spheres, as well as in the field of security. At the same time, special attention will be paid to the environmental aspect – the development of a green economy and ecotourism.

At a meeting of the Council of Permanent Plenipotentiary Representatives of the CIS Member Nations at the Statutory and Other Bodies of the Commonwealth, First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic Asein Isaev presented the concept of Kyrgyzstan’s CIS chairmanship in 2023.

The meeting was attended by CIS Secretary General Sergey Lebedev, his deputies, staff members of the CIS Executive Committee.

The implementation of joint projects and programs in the field of environmental protection will require active cooperation with international institutions. Efforts will be made to work on the protection of natural ecosystems, including through large-scale planting of greenery to ensure climate resiliency in the CIS countries, using the example of the national campaign “Jashyl Muras” (“Green Heritage”) in the Kyrgyz Republic.
