Nurdinjon Ismoilov: MPs of Republic of Uzbekistan Conduct Systematic Work Within Framework of Interparliamentary Cooperation

Speaker of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan Nurdinjon Ismoilov drew outcomes of the MPs’ activities last year and shared plans for the future.

Nurdinjon Ismoilov said that the MPs restructured work in the law-making field and introduced the practice of assessing the compliance of draft laws under development with international documents and recommendations in order to improve Uzbekistan’s position in international ratings.

In total, the Legislative Chamber considered 149 draft laws, 62 of which were adopted as separate laws and 49 – as 10 legislative packages.

The Speaker emphasized increased activity of Uzbekistani legislators in international organizations and the strengthening of cooperation with parliamentary structures. In particular, the prospects for interaction with the IPA CIS were determined.

Nurdinjon Ismoilov said that the MPs’ activity in the field of community outreach had also increased. He stated that the parliament of the Republic of Uzbekistan would continue to mobilize its forces and capabilities to protect the legitimate rights and interests of the citizens of Uzbekistan.
