Republic of Belarus Celebrates Constitution Day

Constitution Day is celebrated in the Republic of Belarus. The Basic Law of the country was adopted 30 years ago – on 15 March 1994.

On 27 February 2022, a referendum was held in the Republic to approve amendments and additions to the Constitution. The supreme representative body of the people’s power becomes the All-Belarusian People’s Assembly, which will approve the foundations of domestic and foreign policy, military doctrine, the concept of national security, as well as decide on the legitimacy of elections.

Currently, the Constitution of Belarus contains 9 sections, 9 chapters and 156 articles.

Traditionally, on the eve of the Constitution Day and on the day itself, there are meetings with labour collectives, thematic events, exhibitions, as well as the presentation of passports to young citizens of the Republic of Belarus.
