Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Valentina Matvienko Discussed Strengthening of Bilateral Cooperation

A telephone conversation was held between President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Speaker of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, Chairperson of the IPA CIS Council Valentina Matvienko.

The Speaker of the upper house of the Russian parliament congratulated the head of Uzbekistan on his birthday and expressed her wishes for good health, prosperity and success in implementing large-scale reforms and transformations in the country.

The parties also discussed the issues of further development multifaceted cooperation between the two countries, including the effective inter-parliamentary dialogue, which contributes to the consistent strengthening of friendship, strategic partnership and alliance.

During the conversation, it was also noted that a regular meeting of the CIS Interparliamentary Assembly would be held in Tashkent in October.

The leader of Uzbekistan reaffirmed his support for the development of close and fruitful cooperation between the parliaments of the two countries.
