Talant Mamytov Demanded Government Bodies to Ensure Fair and Transparent Elections

On 24 December 2020, Acting President of the Kyrgyz Republic, Speaker of the Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic Talant Mamytov held a regular meeting of the country’s Security Council.
The meeting considered issues of ensuring public and epidemiological security during the presidential elections, as well as recommendations for the List of Strategic Objects of the Kyrgyz Republic.
During his opening speech, Talant Mamytov emphasized that the COVID-19 pandemic revealed problems in some sectors of public administration, in particular, the healthcare system. At the same time, the Acting President noted the work of the military, law enforcement officials and volunteers, who were able to stabilize the situation related to the outbreak of the coronavirus infection.
According to the press service of the Jogorku Kenesh, Talant Mamytov said that holding presidential elections and a referendum to determine the form of government was one of the main tasks at present. He stressed that the presidential elections and the referendum should be held fair and transparently, with the same requirements for all candidates.
