Talant Mamytov Elected Speaker of Jogorku Kenesh of Kyrgyz Republic

On 4 November, at the regular meeting of the Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic Kanatbek Isaev resigned as the head of the parliament in connection with his nomination as a presidential candidate.
Kanatbek Isaev stressed the important role of the Jogorku Kenesh in the stabilization of the social and political situation, as well as the legitimization of the composition, structure and program of the Government. He expressed gratitude to his colleagues for the support and wished fruitful work to all MPs.
Member of the parliamentary faction “Respublika–Ata Zhurt” Talant Mamytov was elected new head of the Kyrgyz parliament, supported by 100 MPs in the secret voting.
The MPs congratulated Talant Mamytov on his election as the Toraga of the Jogorku Kenesh and outlined the most urgent questions, such as strengthening measures to combat the coronavirus infection and enhancing cooperation with international partners and fulfilling the commitments made by Kyrgyzstan within the agreements and conventions.
