Valentina Matvienko: Our Duty Is to Sacredly Keep Truth About Victory’s Price

Chairperson of the IPA CIS Council, Speaker of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Valentina Matvienko delivered an address on the occasion of the 81^st anniversary of the beginning of the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945. The Speaker recalled that on 22 June the whole country mourns for all those who died in the battles for the Motherland and died in the rear from hunger and deprivation. Valentina Matvienko said that it was our duty to sacredly preserve and pass on to the next generations the truth about the immortal military and labor feat, about the price that victory over a cruel and merciless enemy was achieved, to resist in every possible way attempts to distort history, to belittle the role of the Soviet soldier in ridding the world of fascism.
