Valentina Matvienko and Tanzila Narbaeva Discussed Issues of Inter-Parliamentary Cooperation

Speaker of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, Chairperson of the Council of the CIS Interparliamentary Assembly Valentina Matvienko had a telephone conversation with Speaker of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan Tanzila Narbaeva on the initiative of Uzbekistan.
According to the press service of the Federation Council, the parties discussed issues of bilateral inter-parliamentary cooperation, as well as the results of the Third Eurasian Women’s Forum, held on 13-15 October in St. Petersburg.
The heads of the upper chambers of parliaments reviewed the results of the work of the Federation Council delegation within the framework of observer missions at the presidential elections in Uzbekistan held last weekend, including as part of the IPA CIS Observer Team.
Valentina Matvienko and Tanzila Narbaeva highly appreciated the sixth session of the Interparliamentary Commission on Cooperation between the Federation Council and the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan held in Tashkent, which discussed the issues of labour migration, education and bilateral cooperation.
