Valentina Matvienko and Tanzila Narvaeva Discussed Interaction Within IPA CIS

On 13 April 2021, a meeting of Speaker of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, Chairperson of the IPA CIS Council Valentina Matvienko and Speaker of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan Tanzila Narbaeva took place in Moscow.
According to Valentina Matvienko, the relations between Russia and Uzbekistan take the form of strategic partnership and alliance, and develop steadily, including on the international arena.
The Speaker of the Federation Council also noted that close interaction between the legislative bodies of the two countries continued during the pandemic. The preparation and approval of the Memorandum of Cooperation on Labor Migration Issues signed by the chairpersons serves as a practical result of such joint activities.
Valentina Matvienko also invited the Uzbek party to take part in the Third Eurasian Women’s Forum, as well as in the preparation of the World Conference on Inter-Religious and Inter-Ethnic Dialogue.
