Vladimir Putin Held Meeting with Heads of State Duma Factions

Today, the meeting of President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin with Speaker of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Vyacheslav Volodin and heads of parliamentary factions – Sergey Neverov, Gennady Zyuganov, Vladimir Zhirinovskiy and Sergey Mironov took place via videoconferencing.
Vladimir Putin stressed that there was a need to adopt some key draft laws in the nearest future in order to implement our economic program, improve business, investment climate, ensure labour and social rights of citizens, and strengthen state building in general.
The President mentioned the upcoming parliamentary elections, noting their great and fundamental importance for Russia, for stable and efficient development of the country and expressed hope that they would be held in an open, fair and competitive manner.
Speaker Vyacheslav Volodin and Leader of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation Gennady Zyuganov noted the priority of the draft laws within the framework of the implementation of the Presidential Address to the Federal Assembly.
Leader of the Liberal Democratic Party of Russia Vladimir Zhirinovskiy raised a question of the indexation of pensions for employed pensioners. Leader of the United Russia Party Sergey Neverov focused on the need to assist and protect the veterans of the Great Patriotic War.
