Women MPs From CIS Discuss Issues of Achieving Gender Equality

Today, a meeting of the Dialogue of Women Leaders of Central Asia took place in Turkmenistan. The event is held within the Consultative Meeting of the Heads of State of Central Asia and is devoted to the issues of achieving gender equality.
One of the key topics of discussion was the strengthening of comprehensive ties among women across the region aimed at promoting multifaceted cooperation.
Speaker of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan Tanzila Narbaeva chaired the Dialogue this year. The event also brought together Chair of the Committee of the Mazhilis of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan on Foreign Affairs, Defense and Security, Chair of the IPA CIS Permanent Commission on Political Issues and International Cooperation Aigul Kuspan, Deputy Speaker of the Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic Aida Kasymalieva, Chair of the Committee on Women and Family Affairs at the government of the Republic of Tajikistan Khilobi Kurbonzoda, Speaker of the Mejlis of the Milli Gengesh of Turkmenistan Gulshat Mammedova, as well as the Special Representative of the UN Secretary General Natalya German.
