Alma-Ata Declaration Celebrates 30th Anniversary

In 2021 the Commonwealth of Independent States celebrates 30th anniversary. On 8 December 1991, the heads of the Republic of Belarus, the Russian Federation and Ukraine signed the Agreement on its establishment.
On 21 December 1991, at a summit in Kazakhstan, the leaders of the Azerbaijan Republic, the Republic of Armenia, the Republic of Belarus, the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic, the Republic of Moldova, the Russian Federation, the Republic of Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, the Republic of Uzbekistan and Ukraine signed the Alma-Ata Declaration and the Protocol to Agreement on the Establishment of the CIS. These documents defined the framework of the Commonwealth.
