Cooperation Between CIS Financial Intelligence Units Discussed Online

Today, the 16th meeting of the CIS Council of the Heads of Financial Intelligence Units took part via videoconferencing. The representatives of other bodies of sectoral cooperation in the field of Commonwealth security, the International Training and Methodology Centre for Financial Monitoring, as well as the Eurasian Group on Combating Money Laundering and Financing of Terrorism were also invited to the event.
The meeting analyzed the progress of the implementation of the decisions of the previous Council meetings and the implementation of the cooperation programs in the field of security. Moreover, the meeting participants were briefed on the measures taken in the Commonwealth in the field of combating money laundering, financing of terrorism and proliferation of weapons of mass destruction.
According to the press office of the CIS Executive Committee, the meeting paid great attention to the different aspects of work on the establishment of the International Center of Assessment of Risks of Money Laundering and Financing of Terrorism, as well as to the issues of countering cryptocurrency criminal behavior.
The Council members adopted the Plan of Work for the next two years. The date and venue of the next regular meeting will be agreed in due course, taking into account the epidemiological situation.
