Dmitriy Kobitskiy: Popularity of Rugby is Growing Every Year in Commonwealth Countries

On 12 September 2020, the International Tournament “Cup of the Union States in Rugby – 7” kicked off in Ufa. The event takes place as part of the celebration of the 75^th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War.

Secretary General – Head of the IPA CIS Council Secretariat Dmitriy Kobitskiy welcomed the participants, organizers and guests of the tournament. He recalled that the competition was dedicated to the memory of those who saved the world from Nazism. Dmitriy Kobitskiy also noted that the popularity of rugby in Russia and other Commonwealth countries was growing every year.

The tournament is held at the Ufa stadium “Dynamo” with the support of the IPA CIS, the Government of the Republic of Bashkortostan and the Russian Rugby Federation.
