Experts Discussed CIS Countries’ Potential In Agro-Industrial Complex

The 10th session of the CIS Intergovernmental Board on Agriculture and Food Processing was held on 16 November 2023.

The results of chairmanship of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Belarus in the CIS Intergovernmental Board on Agriculture and Food Processing in 2022-2023, statistical characteristics of agricultural development in the CIS countries and draft long-term work plan of the CIS Intergovernmental Board on Agriculture and Food Processing for 2024-2026 were presented to the members of the session.

Members of the Board and representatives of relevant ministries and departments of the Republic of Armenia, the Republic of Belarus, the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic, the Russian Federation, the Republic of Tajikistan, the Republic of Uzbekistan, the CIS Executive Committee, the Interstate Statistical Committee of the CIS and the IPA CIS took part in the session.

Deputy Minister of Agriculture of Kyrgyzstan Ainura Tuibaeva was elected Chair of the Board.

Members of the session discussed the draft new edition of the Agreement on Interstate Relations Concerning Agro-Industrial Complex of 29 March 1993, the draft Agreement on Exchange of Information and Cooperation in the Field of Phytomonitoring of Locust Pests.

Initiatives of Uzbekistan in developing new approaches to cooperation in the sphere of joint production and agricultural products processing of the Commonwealth were considered.

Secretary of the IPA CIS Permanent Commission on Agrarian Policy, Natural Resources and Ecology Natalia Amburtseva spoke on the topic “On the Development of Cooperation of the CIS Member Nations in the Field of Organic Agriculture”.

The next session of the CIS Intergovernmental Board on Agriculture and Food Processing will take place in Russia in 2024.
