Industry Experts Supported Development of Model Law on Creative Industries

Within the framework of the International Exhibition of Textiles and Textile Materials “Intercan-2025.Spring” a business session “Traditions in Trend: Development of Light Industry on the Example of Folk Art Crafts and Creative Industries” was held.

The participants of the meeting discussed how folk arts and crafts adapt to modern conditions, how craftsmen cooperate with designers, artists and specialists in the field of digital technologies, as well as considered examples of successful projects.

The experts were introduced to the Model law on Creative Industries, which is being developed on the platform of the CIS Interparliamentary Assembly. Head of the Model Lawmaking Department of the IPA CIS Secretariat Tatyana Baranova spoke in detail about the importance of model lawmaking for the preservation and development of crafts.

According to her, the development of the Model law on Creative Industries was a response to the needs of society, related to the growing role of culture and creativity in the life of citizens. The document promotes the development of creative industries, the protection of artists’ rights and the attraction of investments into cultural projects. This will lead to an increase in the number of start-ups and the creation of new jobs.

The exhibition is organized by the Union of Entrepreneurs of Textile and Light Industry (SOUZLEGPROM) with the support of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs, and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Russia.

Secretary General of the IPA CIS Council Dmitriy Kobitskiy who sent a video greeting, believes that interstate programs and projects in light industry and creative industries should be created taking into account national cultural traditions.
