Meeting of Council of CIS Heads of Government Held Online

Today, a meeting of the Council of the CIS Heads of Government chaired by Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan Abdulla Aripov took place via videoconferencing.
The substantive part of the meeting was devoted to the discussion of the relevant issues of the CIS economic cooperation taking into account current epidemiological situation in the Commonwealth and across the world.
The Heads of Government approved the Action Plan for Implementation of the First Stage of the 2030 CIS Strategy on Economic Growth. The Plan encompasses the 2021-2025 period and features 29 articles devoted, inter alia, to trade and economic cooperation, industry, fuel and energy complex, transport, communications and informatization, agro-industrial complex, monetary and financial policy, labor market.
The document provides for the development and implementation of joint efforts and concrete projects to maintain and extend mutually beneficial industrial cooperation ties between enterprises and technologically related industries, supporting investment and scientific cooperation, ensuring the digitalization of the national economy, stepping up cooperation in the field of innovation, facilitating the transit of cargo transportation across the state borders in the CIS, and ensuring uninterrupted work of national payment systems.
The Heads of Government also signed a number of other documents on different cooperation aspects.
Moreover, the participants approved the Action Plan on Implementation of the CIS Strategy of Ensuring Transport Security in the Course of International Transportation for 2020-2025, and the Plan of Priority Measures in the Sphere of Humanitarian Cooperation among CIS States for 2021–2022.
