Plan of Multi-Level Inter-MFA Consultations in the CIS for 2021 Approved

Yesterday, a meeting of the expert group on finalization and approval of the draft Plan of Multi-Level Inter-MFA Consultations in the CIS for 2021 took place in the CIS Executive Committee in Minsk via videoconferencing.

According to the CIS Executive Committee press-service, the event brought together the representatives of the Azerbaijan Republic, the Republic of Armenia, the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic, the Republic of Moldova (observer status), the Russian Federation, the Republic of Tajikistan, the Republic of Uzbekistan and the CIS Executive Committee.

The experts discussed the received amendments and proposals to the document, finalized and approved the document as a whole. It features the traditional topics related to the coordination of the CIS positions within the UN, convergence of integration processes of the CIS and the EAEU, cooperation with other international organizations. The document also provides for holding of consultations on countering modern challenges and threats, cooperation in the field of information, foreign policy planning.

The new topics include holding of consultations on cooperation in the field of international information security, as well as on the joint CIS activities on overcoming of social and economic impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The meeting decided to submit the Plan for consideration of the regular meeting of the Council of the CIS Foreign Ministers.
