Russian Language and Literature Teachers From 55 Countries Gathered in St. Petersburg

The XV Congress of the International Association of Teachers of Russian Language and Literature is dedicated to the role of Russian literature in the changing world. The final day of the event - 15 September - will be held at the headquarters of the IPA CIS - Tavricheskiy Palace.
Experts from different countries and regions of Russia are taking part in the congress. In total, delegates from 55 countries have arrived in St Petersburg.
Experts in the field of studying, teaching and spreading of Russian language, literature and culture will take part in discussions in 13 key areas. They will discuss language in the context of global and regional socio-political processes, problems of mutual influence of national mentalities and dialogue of cultures in the conditions of multilingualism, topical problems of Russian language teaching and others.
The Congress is organized by the International Association of Teachers of Russian Language and Literature (IATRL) and St. Petersburg State University with the support of the Russkiy Mir Foundation.
Since 1969, the Congress has been conducted every five years and has become the largest and most authoritative event in the field of studying, teaching and promoting the Russian language in the world.
