International Forum “Commonwealth of Fashion” Kicked Off in Tavricheskiy Palace

Representatives of textile and fashion industry, relevant ministries and business associations, educational institutions and the creative sector from Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Russia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan attended the event.
The IPA CIS, the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation, the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation and the Eurasian Women’s Forum co-organized the Forum.
Chair of the Committee of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation on Social Policy Inna Svyatenko addressed the Forum participants and delivered a welcoming speech on behalf of Chairperson of the IPA CIS Council, Speaker of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Valentina Matvienko.
Deputy Head of the Department of Sectoral Economic Cooperation of the Department of Economic Cooperation of the CIS Executive Committee Olga Gnatovskaya delivered the greetings on behalf of Chairperson of the Executive Committee – CIS Executive Secretary Sergey Lebedev.
Minister of Culture of the Russian Federation Olga Lyubimova, in her welcoming speech, noted that the promotion of the rich cultural heritage of the CIS countries, the strengthening of intercultural relations, the identification and promotion of national cultural brands played an important role in the harmonic development of interstate relations.
Deputy Minister of Economic Development of Russia Dmitriy Volvachov noted the increased mutual trade across the Commonwealth.
Secretary General of the IPA CIS Council Dmitriy Kobitskiy noted the importance of the fashion industry for the economic integration of the CIS countries.
Deputy Minister of Economy and Commerce of Kyrgyzstan Veronika Isayeva addressed the participants with a video message and emphasized the need for such unifying events in a changing global economy.
Chair of the Bellegprom concern Tatyana Lugina and member of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Elena Drapeko noted the growing role of cooperation in the field of textile and creative industry at the plenary session of the Forum.
In addition, President of the St. Petersburg Chamber of Commerce and Industry Vladimir Katenev and founder of the JM studio brand Yulia Matvienko spoke at the Forum’s plenary session.
The work of the Forum continued at thematic roundtables. The exchange of business contacts operates in the Tavricheskiy Palace all day long.
