Russian National Congress of Cardiologists opened in the Tavricheskiy Palace

In her message, Chairperson of IPA CIS Council, Speaker of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Valentina Matvienko welcomed the participants.

Among the guests of this milestone Congress are Evgeniy Shlyakhtov, President, Russian Cardiac Society, Evgeniy Chazov, Honorary President, Russian Cardiac Society, Leo Bokeriya, Academician, Chief Cardiac Surgeon of Russia, Director, Bakoulev CCVS, Leonid Roshal, President, National Chamber of Medicine, Director, Research Center for Critical Infant Surgery and Trauma Professor. Foreign participants are represented by European Cardiac Society and American College of Cardiologists.

The program features lectures by researchers from 33 countries. The six plenary sessions include lectures on the most acute issues in prevention and treatment of cardiovascular diseases, discussions on medical treatment management, advance of cell technologies based on molecular biology and genetics, as well as development and production of new drugs.
