Young MPs Discussed Development of Youth Entrepreneurship in Commonwealth Countries

The twenty-second meeting of the CIS Youth Interparliamentary Assembly (YIPA CIS) was held on 30 May in the Tavricheskiy Palace. The main topic of the agenda is the development of youth entrepreneurship in the Commonwealth countries. Representatives of each youth parliamentary delegation of the CIS countries informed about measures to support young businessmen and shared their experience of legislative regulation in this matter in their countries.
Young MPs from Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, as well as invited experts took part.
Secretary General of the IPA CIS Council Dmitriy Kobitskiy opened the meeting. He congratulated the new members of the Youth Parliamentary delegations.
The meeting was attended by a delegation of the CIS Council of Permanent Plenipotentiary Representatives to the statutory and other CIS bodies.
Permanent Representative of Russia to the statutory and other CIS bodies Andrey Grozov addressed the young MPs. According to him, the fact that the YIPA CIS actively cooperates with the relevant industry bodies of the Commonwealth deserves special appreciation.
Member of the Standing Committee of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus on International Affairs and National Security Alexander Lukyanov was elected Coordinator of the CIS YIPA. He expressed confidence that the chairmanship of Belarus in the YIPA will be effective.
Representatives of the Youth Parliamentary Delegations of the CIS countries inform about projects aimed at supporting young entrepreneurs in the Commonwealth.
Member of the Committee of the Milli Majlis of the Republic of Azerbaijan for Youth and Sports Konul Nurullayeva advised that young entrepreneurs of Azerbaijan not only develop business within the country, but also closely communicate with colleagues abroad
Member of the Standing Committee of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia on State and Legal Affairs Lilit Minasyan related about the Strategy of Small and Medium Enterprise Development (SME) approved in Armenia.
A member of the Committee of the Mazhilis of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan on Ecology and Nature Management Ryan Zainullin noted that within in the framework of state support, any private business has the opportunity to receive state support.
Information on events related to the popularization of youth entrepreneurship was presented by Deputy Chair of the Committee of the Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic on Constitutional Legislation, State Structure, Judicial and Legal Issues and Regulations Chyngyz Azhibaev.
Deputy Chair of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Boris Chernyshev in his speech noted state grants as the most demanded measure of support for youth entrepreneurship.
According to Member of the Committee of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation on Social Policy, Senator of the Russian Federation Ivan Novikov not only executive and legislative authorities, but also large corporations are involved in supporting young entrepreneurs.
As for women entrepreneurs, since 1 March 2024, the Girls Academy League has been launched to train young women and girls in marketing and graphic design, and various competitions, training camps and internships are organized for them.
The young MPs summed up the results of the International Youth Translation Competition dedicated to the Year of the Russian Language as the Language of Interethnic Communication in the CIS. The competition committee selected 42 works in Azerbaijani, Armenian, Belarusian, Kazakh, Kyrgyz, Tajik, Turkmen and Uzbek languages. The competition was attended by citizens of the CIS countries aged 14 to 35 years.
The meeting of the YIPA CIS continued with a cultural program dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the lifting the Nazi siege of Leningrad. Members of the youth parliamentary delegations of the CIS countries visited the Museum of the Defense and Siege of Leningrad.
