Dmitriy Kobitskiy Congratulated Central Election Commission of Republic of Belarus on its 35th Anniversary

35 years ago, a permanent state body that organizes and conducts election campaigns - the Central Election Commission (CEC) of the Republic of Belarus - appeared in Belarus.

Secretary General of the IPA CIS Council Dmitriy Kobitskiy sent a congratulatory message to Chair of the CEC Igor Karpenko.

In his congratulatory message he noted that the high professionalism of the members of the commission contributed to the development and legal regulation of all aspects of the electoral process. Dmitriy Kobitskiy wished further success in the activities of the Central Election Commission of Belarus.

The Central Election Commission of Belarus was established by the Supreme Soviet of the Byelorussian SSR on 4 December 1989. The Commission actively promotes the work of the IPA CIS International observers, monitoring election campaigns in Belarus. The leadership and members of the CEC participate in the activities of the International Institute for Monitoring Democracy Development, Parliamentarianism and Suffrage Protection of Citizens of IPA CIS Member Nations (IPA CIS IIMDD), as well as in conferences and forums of the Assembly.

Currently, the CEC is in the active phase of the presidential election campaign scheduled for 26 January 2025. The IPA CIS International observers will monitor the presidential election in Belarus.
