IPA CIS IIMDD Participated in Conference “Elections in Russia and in World: Society, Law, Technologies”

On 26 September, the plenary session of the international research and practice conference “Elections in Russia and the World: Society, Law, Technologies” was held. The conference was organized by the Institute of Legal Studies of Baikal State University.
The topics of discussion were topical issues of electoral legislation, digitalization of electoral processes, ensuring national security in the context of election campaigns, international election observation and others.
Deputy Head of the IPA CIS Council Secretariat – Director of the International Institute for Monitoring the Democracy Development, Parliamentarianism and Suffrage Protection of Citizens of IPA CIS Member Nations (IPA CIS IIMDD), Doctor of Law, Professor Ivan Mushket, Deputy Director of the IPA CIS IIMDD Elena Eremenko and other staff members of the Institute took part in the meeting via videoconferencing.
Their reports touched upon the impact of international observation on increasing public confidence in elections and referendums, as well as ensuring the security of the electoral process in modern conditions. The conference participants were introduced to the methodology, methods and techniques of election observation in the CIS countries.
