IPA CIS International Observers Conduct Long-Term Monitoring of Presidential Election in Belarus

On 18 December, the IPA CIS International observers visited the town of Svetlogorsk, Gomel region, and met with Chair of the district election commission Larisa Veraksich. The observers familiarized themselves with the process of formation of 52 precinct election commissions and learned that three initiative groups were collecting signatures for presidential candidates on the territory of the district.
Head of the department of analytics and monitoring of elections of the International Institute for Monitoring the Democracy Development, Parliamentarianism and Suffrage Protection of Citizens of IPA CIS Member Nations (IPA CIS IIMDD) Roman Amburtsev told the Chair of the district commission about the methodology of long-term monitoring, used by international observers from the Assembly and the documents, which were prepared on its results.
