IPA CIS Observers Conduct Long-term Monitoring of Parliamentary Elections in Kyrgyzstan

On 27 October, a group of international observers from the CIS Interparliamentary Assembly, led by Deputy Director of the International Institute for Monitoring the Democracy Development, Parliamentarianism and Suffrage Protection of Citizens of IPA CIS Member Nations (IPA CIS IIMDD) Elena Yeremenko met with the leadership of the Osh City Administration, the Osh Territorial Election Commission and District Election Commission No. 6.

The observers were informed about the process of defining the boundaries of electoral districts in Osh city and Osh region, as well as about the process of nomination and registration of candidates for deputies. The preparation of polling stations for the voting day was discussed.

The observers were informed about the number of registered voters and polling stations that will be open on election day. The candidates spoke about the nomination and registration process, preparations for election campaigning, as well as interaction with election commissions.

The participants of the meeting noted that the pre-election events were held in a calm and working atmosphere.

Members of the IPA CIS international observer group are completing their work in the Osh region. Long-term monitoring will continue in the cities of Manas and Bishkek.
