IPA CIS Observers met with Chair of Armenia"s Central Election Commission Vahagn Hovakimyan

International observers from the Interparliamentary Assembly of the Commonwealth of Independent States (IPA CIS) met with the Chair of Armenia’s Central Election Commission Vahagn Hovakimyan.

The delegation is conducting long-term observation of preparations for the parliamentary elections.

The parties discussed current issues related to the electoral process, including legislative amendments concerning the status of national observers, the procedure for forming precinct election commissions, the updating of voter lists, and the organization of video surveillance at polling stations.

Special attention was given to voting arrangements for citizens with disabilities, both at polling stations and in medical institutions.

The IPA CIS monitoring group is working in Yerevan and other regions of the republic.
 
Experts from the IPA CIS International Institute for Monitoring Democracy Development  are analyzing Armenia’s electoral legislation for compliance with international standards for democratic elections.

It should be recalled that elections to the National Assembly of the Republic of Armeni will be held on June 7.
