More than 3000 CIS Students took part in Olympiad “Electoral Systems of World’s Countries”

The V International Student Internet Olympiad “Electoral Systems of World’s Countries” has ended.

The creative competition took place from 24 September to 15 November 2024. It was organized by the International Institute for Monitoring Democracy Development, Parliamentarianism and Suffrage Protection of Citizens of the IPA CIS Member Nations, the Saratov State Academy of Law and the International Center for Scientific Information.

3172 students from 177 higher educational institutions took part in the Olympiad. This year, the most applications were received from Russia (2127 people), Belarus (416 people) and Azerbaijan (206 people).

Students from Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Georgia, Moldova, Turkmenistan, Ukraine, Afghanistan, Vietnam, Germany, Greece, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Egypt, Zambia, Indonesia, Canada, China, Colombia, the Republic of the Congo, Lebanon, Mali, Mongolia, Nigeria, Chad and Ecuador also took part in the Olympiad.

Currently, the Olympiad jury, headed by Professor of the Department of Political Institutions and Applied Political Science of the Faculty of Political Science of Saint Petersburg State University, Doctor of Political Sciences, Professor Olga Popova has begun to check the works of the participants of the Olympiad.

The Olympiad “Electoral Systems of World’s Countries” was held this year for the fifth time. During this time, the number of participants has grown almost 4.5 times, and the number of universities they represent has tripled.
