Parliamentarians of Commonwealth Countries Honored Memory of Heroes of Great Patriotic War in Minsk

The IPA CIS international observers monitoring the election of the President of the Republic of Belarus laid flowers at the eternal flame at the Victory Memorial.

The memorial complex on Victory Square was opened in Minsk in 1954 on the 10th anniversary of the liberation of the Republic. It immortalized the memory of the country’s residents, Red Army soldiers, partisans and underground fighters who gave their lives in the fight against Nazism.

Laying flowers at memorials dedicated to the common Victory is a tradition observed by parliamentarians of the Commonwealth countries.
